Dave & Carol Peterson
transitional lead pastor
Dave began his ministry as Transitional Lead Pastor at Eastwood on May 1, 2021, after having completed two Transitional Leadership ministries at Snowdon Baptist Church in Montreal and Memorial Baptist Church in Stratford.
Previous ministries include West Park Church (London, ON), South Delta Baptist Church (Delta, BC), Crossfield Baptist Church (Crossfield, AB), and Calvary Baptist Church (Guelph, ON).
He was also in the Christian Bookselling industry for almost 23 years: 10 with The Fellowship Baptist office and 13 with his own store.
Dave and Carol have two sons and five grandchildren in Guelph and one son in California.
Being from Michigan, Dave is a huge fan of all sports from that state, including the University of Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons. Carol enjoys sports but loves chocolate!
Rita is the Church Office Administrator, a Jesus follower grateful for the opportunity to work alongside her brothers and sisters in Christ. Rita is married to Kory and they have 3 beautiful children together.
Eastwood has been Rita’s home church since 2006. Her desire is to see the church grow and flourish in the truth of God’s Word and to be faithful in serving the Lord as His bride.
One of her favorite passages is Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”.
Dave and Stephanie are custodians at Eastwood. They have attended Eastwood for over 30 years. Dave has been involved in the music ministry since moving to St. Thomas in 1984. He has also worked for Eastwood Housing since that time. Both Dave and Stephanie are involved in Awana, working with the Grades 3-5 Truth and Training (T & T) group.
Dave has a passion for pointing others to the Lord through both music and children’s ministry. His favourite verse is Romans 12:1-2, which says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (ESV).
Barbara has been the bookkeeper at Eastwood for almost 12 years. Mathematics has always been of high interest for her. She strives to be efficient and hopes to develop closer relationships with those she interacts with at work.
Married, with five children and three grandchildren, Barbara likes to be outdoors, including riding her motorcycle.
She is very passionate about living for Christ and helping her family and friends see how Christ can fill their lives as well.
Her favourite verse is Ephesians 4:29: “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
